World of Warcraft reputation

One of the main goals of any WoW player is to get as high reputation as possible. Every time you enter a mysterious and challenging world of the game you start imagining those little green bars being fully filled with Exalted stamped across them!

Gaining or losing favor is the result of your success or failure in the game. The higher reputation you have the more access you get to special rewards or new quests to accomplish. There are some several methods to increase your «good name» but not all of them are that easy.

Your daily dose of quest

There is a special type of activity called repeatable reputation quest which helps a gamer to get reputation scores. It can be done multiple times and after each completion you will receive a new rep level as a reward. You can recognise the activity by the blue question mark.

All sorts of farming

There are some other ways to update your rep levels.

Mob Farming is the simplest method of farming for rep building but still it is the most boring. All you have to do is to kill a specific mob or group of mobs over and over.

Dungeon farming means completing various 5 man instances over and over until you reach exalted reputation with the associated faction.

Raid farming is a little bit more challenging way to raise rep. Firstly, raid instances are much harder to complete and will require the help of several players. Secondly, raid instances can only be cleared once a week.

From hated to exalted

Firstly let's point out reputation levels which you can achieve by completing quests aligned with the faction, killing certain creatures, doing level-appropriate dungeons or using writs purchased from the Argent Tournament (available at level 80) and Molten Front (available at level 85).

Progressing from level to level means earning some points, but on the contracts to the experience, it is possible to lose reputation points in case of killing members of the faction or by assisting rival factions.

So during the game you can achieve a level of:

  • Hated;
  • Hostile;
  • Unfriendly;
  • Neutral;
  • Friendly;
  • Honoured;
  • Revered;
  • Exalted.

Higher reputation levels generally require more points than the previous level to progress besides hated which covers a very large number of reputation points.

Various quests and faction-specific rewards are available across the levels, but the player must be able to interact with the faction NPCs to get access to these rewards.

There are many ways to farm reputation, most of which are boring and time consuming. Farming dungeons, killing mobs, turning in specific items and completing quests are some of them. If you are not into them, Boost2Night knows the other option.
